Jharkhand State Bar Council
The Jharkhand State Bar Council, Jharkhand is an Autonomous body established and Constituted in the Year 2005 under the provisions of Advocates Act 1961
The Jharkhand State Bar Council came into being in the year 2005. The first Bar Council was constituted for the period 2005-2010. The current and second bar council has been constituted for the period 2012 – 2017 comprising of 25 members and one Ex-Officio member being the Advocate General. The Bar Council is the apex body of lawyers which regulates their entry, discipline and it works for the general welfare of advocates. The Jharkhand State Bar Council is also the disciplinary authority of the advocates and is the trustee under the Jharkhand Advocates Welfare Fund Act 1983. The JSBC has many challenges ahead and it is committed to carry out its statutory obligation of enrollment, legal aid, medical and other aid to the advocates as also framing of various welfare schemes for the advocates. .
